A new scenario that is happening more and more frequently in our home:
Mom: "Samuel, if you wish to keep crying (throwing a fit) please go to your room until you can be fun to be around."

Samuel goes to his room and comes out a few minutes later with, "Mommy, I am happy now!"

Not too long later Merideth decides to pitch her own fit. Mom doesn't have to say anything this time, Samuel says, "Merideth if you want to cry do it in your room!"

It is very hard for me to keep a straight face when this happens because Samuel says it with such sincerity. Today it was, "Merideth we give lunch to kids who sit down at the table."

Seeing the reflection of our parenting certainly helps in determining if it is working!!
