Fun in NM!

The kids, Danica, and I (Erin) took a short trip to NM. It was our first shot at the 10 hour drive and it went unbelievably well, thanks to the portable DVD player (one of our best investments to date)! We got to visit Grandma Paula, Roger, Grandpa Jackson, and Sandy, thanks to you all for the fun times! There are a LOT of pictures below, so get your coffee and enjoy!

The start of the drive. The kids got new desks that were great for coloring and for eating. That was some good excitement that lasted an hour or so.

My children will not sleep in the car no matter how tired they are!!!

Their first nap "together". Samuel has been asking for a long time if Merideth can sleep with him, I finally gave in in order for them to nap!!

Releasing balloons for Uncle Darren. "He's up there," Samuel said.

I wish I could clean with that smile on my face.

Merideth wanted to find Teddy Bears in the forest, but there weren't any. She did find some in Grandma's house though.

Samuel finished one of his maze books and got this blue ribbon that he got to wear to bed. "I love you"

Playing at the park on a sunny cold morning.

Cleaning up the "sharp" rocks at the park.

Samuel posing with the rock pile that they made.

Merideth took great care of the Welcome bear.

Danica pointing out cactus on one of our hikes by Roger's house.

Fun with Danica!

"I'll hold you Merideth!"

Roasting marshmallows.

What's in the bucket?

Hiking in the beautiful Lincoln forest, everyone with their walking sticks.

We encountered many "gates" along the way.

Thank you Grandpa Jackson for the frogs and Cookie Monster!!

Samuel and Grandpa Jackson playing washers.

Samuel, Grandpa Jackson, Sandy and Merideth enjoying the sunset. Did you really get to enjoy it or was my son begging you to play washers again?

Samuel and the deer that come for breakfast every morning.

Merideth thought they were all so "CUTE"!

The drive home, pooped out!

We stopped at the Northern Hemisphere's largest cross. They also had Jesus's journey with the cross up to his Crucifixion. We didn't stay for too long, it didn't seem appropriate to let the kids run around there...they could use a playground. Kidding aside, it was very well done and humbling to see a life size Jesus holding that huge heavy cross.
